From There to Here Gam, Sunday, February 8th at 3 pm at Nantucket Historical Association

Book Discussion of American Chica, Monday, February 9th at Salt Marsh (day) and Nantucket Atheneum (evening)

Author Presentations:

Arthur Dorris Friday, February 13th at Nantucket Elementary School (day) and Nantucket Atheneum (evening)

Family Event at Bartlett’s Farm, Saturday, February 14th

From There to Here Slam Jam, Poetry and Music on Sunday, February 15th at 3 pm at Nantucket Atheneum

From There To Here

How did you get to Nantucket? And, where did you come from?

One Book One Island (OBOI), an annual community reading project, celebrates the arrival and survival of all Nantucketers and we want to hear your story. Click on the "Comments" link in any post and tell us how you got here and what keeps you here.

In 2009, OBOI has chosen the books "American Chica" (for adults and teens), "Seedfolks" (for young adults), and "Abuela" (for children).

Beginning January 5 free copies of the books can be picked up all over the island (see Books for locations).

During the week of February 7-14 OBOI will present a busy schedule of events related to the books that include film, music, book discussions and author talks (See Calendar of Events.)
